Bennett – The Padre Of Gallipoli” by Mal Hamilton on Vimeo. This presentation was produced by It Is Written Incorporated, a media evangelism ministry. The Reverend Canon Thomas Pearse Bennett was a 36-year-old Chaplain 4th Class when he went aboard H.M.A.T. A38 “Ulysses” at Melbourne on 10 May 1915. On 17 March 1915, Padre (“T.P.”) Bennett took leave of his Church of England parish at Warrnambool, in rural Victoria, to enlist with the First AIF. Padre Bennett ministered to troops during the Gallipoli Peninsula campaign and after the war was collated an Archdeacon and was Vicar-General and Administrator of the Diocese of Ballarat.
